Foods that helps in reliving cold:

Cold:

       Common cold is a viral infection which occurs in upper respiratory tract that affects the nose.The signs of cold are coughing,sneezing,nose running etc which will be up to seven to ten days.Some people will have cold will be three or four weeks.There are no vaccine for cold.The method to reduce cold is being hygenic by washing the hands properly,staying away from the persons who is having cold,healthy diet.Cold will rarely produce different health problems unless it is seviere.Unfortunately cold does not have a treatment that will helps to reduce 100 percent but with some diet changes we can reduce cold up to some percent.

1.Ginger:

         Ginger is one of the most effective remedy to reduce cold and cough.Adding a teaspoon of ginger water in milk will helps in relieving cold as well as cough up to some extent.Its pungent taste helps in eliminating the mucus from lungs which cause cold.Ginger tea is also an another option for reliving cold as it contains some chemical substances( ß-sesquiphelandrene and ar-curcumene)which helps in fighting some types of viruses.         

2.Garlic:

      The pungent plant(Garlic) helps in reliving various types of viruses.Garlic contains an chemical substances known as allicin which will destroys the cold causing bacteria.Having a one garlic per day will helps in reducing the cold.In England found that a person who will eat garlic per day will have less chances of getting cold that the one who does not have it.

3.Chicken soup:

              In olden days our grandmas will prefer to have hot chicken soup if we get cold and we can believe that this is the one of the best remedy.Some scientist done several research on our grandmas recipie.The researches found the most interesting things in chicken soup.Chicken soup will helps in slow down the mucus production.Slowing down the mucus production helps you breathe easier during cold.Chicken soup also provides immune support with a strong dose of proteins.

4.Turmeric:

         Turmeric is in yellow colour and mostly occurs in powder form.Turmeric contains the most important anti-infection or anti bacterial properties which reduce the cold.Turmeric is also a part of ayurvedic medicine.Curcumin an active component present in turmeric will have certain cold virus fighting properties.Studies suggest that mixing a 3/4th spoon of turmeric with milk and pepper is an excellent drink for cold and cough

5.Sweet potato:

         Sweet potatoes contains Beta-carotene as well as Vitamin C helps in reducing the cold by increasing the immune system of a body.Beta-carotene also helps in neutalizing the harmful toxins.

6.Salmon:

           Salmon is one of the most excellent food we ever had.Along with its excellent taste it also contains several beneficial properties.It contains omega-3 fatty acids which strengthens the immune system of the body and also helps in reliving from several diseases such as cold,cough etc.             

7.Orange juice:

       Orange juice is one of the best food for cold as it contains Vitamin C.Orange is one the great medicine which helps in lessen the duration of cold.Doctors recommends to have 90 milligrams of orange juice per day.Some researchers found that consuming the orange juice four times more that the daily recommended dose can do miracles.

8.Pepper:

         Pepper contains the chemical compound known as Capsaicin.This chemical substance helps our  body in  reducing the mucus and acts as a decongestant which helps to relieves the cold.Pepper also contains the vitamin C as oranges.Vitamin C also helps in shorten the duration of cold.Pepper is also an ayurvedic medicine which have been used by everyone now a days extensively.
